Jimmy Tyrrell-Professional Fly Dresser, Fishing Guide & Tackle shop
I tie flies professionally and run a fly tying business where I tie flies from my shop in Abbeyleix, County Laois, Ireland.
If there are any budding fly tyers out there that are interested in taking up the art of fly tying, I write an article for Irish Angler a fantastic fishing magazine that covers all aspects of fishing in Ireland. In it I include a step by step guide on the fly that I have written about. It is quite straightforward for anyone who is interested in fly tying.
I also have a couple of step by steps on the website.
A vast selection of flies is available. Everything from the smallest dry flies and nymphs to a big selection of Salmon flies.
I carry a good stock of flies but if I don't have it in stock I will gladly tie them for you and get them to you as quick as possible.
I have a fishing tackle shop which I run along with my wife. Fly tying has been a passion of mine for a very long time I tie flies every day even if it is only a couple to take fishing with. I get great satisfaction teaching the art of fly tying.
I love tying patterns of my own and experimenting with them, over the years I have come up with some very nice patterns that catch fish for me. If there is any help or advice I can pass on to you I would be only to glad to help. Perhaps you could pass on a few tips to me I love swapping ideas with people and learning different techniques.
Selling flies all over the world I have built up a network of people "Thanks" to some of the fishermen on the Irish Fly Fishing Teams who I have tied flies for. I also frame flies and have a nice selection to choose from.
I run a Ghillie service on the local rivers for Salmon and Trout. Also providing casting tuition for beginners, tackle supplied.
I sell fishing tackle and flies in the fly craft shop. Where I tie flies no order is too small just email me or feel free to give me a call.
During the winter I run fly tying courses, anyone that is interested should contact me. Everyone is welcome from complete beginners to people who have tied before.
